3 New England Based Utilities Turned to ElecComm Power Services to Provide Temporary Power During Record Heat Waves

Boston, MA, September 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In response to this summer's scorching heat, ElecComm Power Services installed 6 MW's of power for local utilities throughout New England. These specific generators were used to compensate for an increased power demand. EPS's team of engineers and technicians installed (3) 2000kW generators and (3) 2500kVA step-up transformers. The units were wired directly into the utility's substation distribution lines. The units were configured to peak shave power demand at vulnerable locations. Equipment ran during the day and at the peak usage hours of early afternoon and early evening.

The installation of these generators prevented utilities from having to have rolling blackouts due to increased stress on power lines and substation equipment.

EPS handled all logistics during these projects, including transportation, low voltage cable installation, fueling, and 24/7 technical support while equipment was on line.

During this time period (July 2010) EPS was also called upon to supply temporary power for over 50 separate isolated power outages for utilities.
