Enstar Revolutionizes Real Internet Development with clearString
clearString, a new software package created by Enstar LLC, makes it possible for people to make real Internet based businesses - without programming and without being trapped in predetermined template systems - by using new "do-it-yourself" Internet applications.
Hebron, CT, September 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Anyone wanting to bring a new product or service to market must develop a strong Internet presence. Once you get beyond a basic brochure though, the budding entrepreneur finds that technical problems soon overwhelm them. Despite all the recent Web 2.0 noise, building websites that work with even the smallest amount of changing data is still beyond nearly everyone.
Capital that should be used for marketing gets sucked away in hiring technicians for database manipulation and non-productive custom back-office development. Solving this problem has been the thrust behind Enstar's new product: clearString. “If you want to build the next major online-retail or social-networking site, then you can start right here,” says CEO David Rose from their Connecticut office.
This software has been under development for several years and has recently finished extensive real-world trials here in the USA, in the UK and Europe. User testing has been done exclusively in companies without access to programmers and without prior experience. The software is free, and there are premium licenses for power-users.
"The thinking behind clearString," says the clearString website, "is to take web-development out of the walled-garden of the programmer. Anyone should be able to create their own web-based business or service. Economic innovation comes from small start-ups, and in these financially straitened times money is not flowing down to people with new ideas. Without capital new ideas can't move forward. clearString does away with the need to have specialist programmers and back-office database managers, so freeing up money for marketing and business building."
“First… let’s kill all the programmers,” said Bob North, the UK-based CIO, misquoting Shakespeare. “Our goal is to spread the means of production as widely as possible among business users. It mustn’t be centralized under the control of a few large businesses, however benevolent.” This software is designed to allow anyone to build data rich web applications without programming or scripting, without style restrictions, whilst being impossible to break, says clearString.
The software, which installs onto most standard Windows computers, creates a complete hosting and working environment. Web building is then done by the simple drag and drop of "components" – shown as graphic images and representing different capabilities – which are then configured through easy to understand dialogs. Sites and applications are snapped together like virtual Legos. Finished sites are self-published right from the same machine – with no fooling around with arcane tools. Sites can be exported, imported and traded amongst users. clearString will shortly be launching a market-place where anyone can either give away or sell applications, with inherent protection of the creator’s intellectual property rights.
Asked why clearString runs under Windows, rather than the free Linux operating system, David Rose replied, “Windows is where all the real business people are. There are no versions of nerdy Linux that are suitable for non-technical users. Every package has serious flaws which are seldom addressed promptly, if at all. And one can look in horror as new users are serially abused by Linux shell-backs who seem to worship the Terminal. Any time someone says, 'Just open a terminal session and type...' it means (in the real world) that this software is broken. If you are trying to use your website for something you rely on - such as your business - then Linux, PHP and other open-source software is simply not there yet for the average user."
"And given the fractured nature of open-source development it probably never will be," he continued. "Without a financial imperative there simply is not the incentive to go back and fix broken things. Irresponsible? No, it is simply much more fun as a Developer to work on new stuff - and hey, if you are working for free - why not? But you don't want to build your new business on software that isn't there yet, with no support and unfriendly to new users.”
clearString takes business development out of the hands of programmers and puts it back where it belongs - in the hands of the entrepreneur.
clearString can be downloaded free of charge and there are links to extensive online help, tutorials and video guides.
