Humour-Laced Indie Popsters Stages of Dan Release Their Single "Gary" on Frontman Chris Aliano’s Brother’s Record Label DTR Records on the 7th of November 2010
Family business, dance music covers, BMX bikes… and pig roasts are just some of the things associated with British indie band Stages of Dan and their single "Gary."
London, United Kingdom, September 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- After a year of building up fans on circuit gigs across the UK, November 2009 saw Stages of Dan self-release a debut EP and host a launch party to a capacity crowd at The Social in London. The next month saw Steve Lamacq of BBC 6Music champion them as his "Unsigned Band of the Week," with their EP being played on both his and Tom Robinson’s shows.
The band are now set to release 2 singles and a full length album over the course of the end of 2010 and early 2011. First single, "Gary," is due out on the 7th November 2010 on DTR Records, a division of a BMX clothing and events company (sporting, music and, yes, pig roasts) and now a small record label owned by frontman Chris Aliano's brother Jay. The promotional version of the single features a completely unique guitar pop cover version of 90s dance club hit "What Is Love?" by Haddaway as the B-side. A guerrilla-style sushi bar video for "Gary" which sees the band singing along behind customers as a video camera spins around on a sushi bar conveyor belt can be seen on: www.myspace.com/stagesofdan.
Musically, their infectious songs range from heartstring pullers to sing along stomps and are always performed with venom and glee in equal measure. Mixing the catchy riffs of Surf Rock with the energy of Punk, the delicate melodies of Folk and the harmonies of 60’s Rock n’ Roll, the band have discovered a inimitable sound which has gained them many new admirers recently.
Stages of Dan are a London based trio made up of Chris Aliano (Guitar/Vocals), Chris "Big Chris" Bryant (Bass/vox) and Guy Davidson (Drums/vox). Previously, frontman Chris Aliano had a successful solo career winning a competition beating out thousands of entries to perform at the Benicassim Festival in Spain and touring around the UK before forming the band in 2009. Stages of Dan are now ready to spread their good vibrations and super dandy indie music across the UK and beyond.
