Cheyney University Soulful Sound Marching Bands Gears for Another Season
The Cheyney University Soulful Sound Marching Band, under the direction of Professor Allen Gardner, gears for yet another extraordinary season.
Cheyney, PA, September 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Professor Gardner is optimistic concerning the future direction of the band, and emphasizes the importance of the band as an important program for the University’s Center of Excellence in Communications Media, Entertainment Arts & Fine Arts. Cheyney University’s band program was re-established in 2005 with the assistance of a very talented, enthusiastic, and determined group of students. The Director of Bands at Cheyney University, Professor Allen Gardner, developed a rich and rigorous environment for music majors and non-music majors to grow aesthetically through preparation, musical instruction, and performance.
On Saturday, August 28th, the Soulful Sound Marching Band participated in the Concerned Black Men’s 2nd Annual Band Showcase that was held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Upcoming Labor Day Weekend performances include Montgomery OIC Battle at Norristown High School, the Pennsylvania Avenue Reunion Weekend Parade in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Cheyney University/Lincoln University Football Classic at Northeast High School.
