Elastocon Expands STK Series of Overmolding TPEs
Major TPE producer expands line of offerings to include a new series of TPEs that overmold easily and effectively onto other plastic substrates.
Rochester, IL, September 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Elastocon® TPE Technologies, Inc. has expanded its line of special STK Series of overmolding thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds and concentrates for overmolding onto PC, ABS, PC/ABS and Acrylic. Now the new STK 50 and STK70 grades have a Shore A hardness range of 45 and 67.
Benefits of the new grades, all of which can be injection molded, extruded, blow molded or compounded, are their high flow properties to make them suited for complex parts or components that require protection, good colorability, aesthetically appealing surface finish and high impact resistance, even at low temperatures. Applications can include, but are not limited to boat and aviation products, recreational products, power tools, instrumentation and hand-held electronics where non-slip, soft touch ergonomics, UV stability and resistance to microbial growth and household products might be required.
At the present time, Elastocon offers a 2800 Series and 8000 Series of TPEs, A SMR Series of TPOs, the STK Series for overmolding, and alloys, all of which can be injection molded, extruded, blow molded or compounded. Elastocon thermoplastic elastomers do not require drying and are offered for applications that require rubber-like properties, impact resistance, colorability, a good surface finish, easy processability, reduced material usage and numerous other features and benefits. All Elastocon grades are free from latex, and are RoHS and California Proposition 65 compliant, with many of the company offerings being FDA compliant, as well as UL and NSF approvable, and are suitable for medical applications. Elastocon can provide ISO reporting for manufacturing and shipping. All grades are reclaimable and recyclable.
