The Christ Hospital opens doors of spine, orthopedic and ear, nose, throat unit
Cincinnati, OH, September 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Smith & Schaefer, a regional dealer of healthcare and lab equipment and furnishings, announces the completion of its most recent project, The Christ Hospital Spine, Orthopedics, and Ear, Nose, Throat Unit. This new unit is on 3 South at The Christ Hospital’s Mt. Auburn hospital. The inpatient unit features private patient rooms with bedside computer documentation, ceiling mounted patient lifts, nurse servers for each room, and a classroom fully equipped with audiovisual capabilities for patient and family education.
“As part of the team charged to create the hospital’s ‘New Patient Experience’ we worked meticulously with the nursing staff to create a patient unit that met clinical requirements,” Smith & Schaefer account manager Leslie Gray said. “At the same time we introduced patient room furnishings that created a pleasing, safe place to heal. The central nurse station is modular for future adaptability and features an exterior clad in wood look wrapcoat for durability and cleanability.”

The 3 South unit is equipped with overhead lifts and nurse server cabinets outside of each room to assist staff members in caring for patients who have had surgical procedures to correct spine and joint problems.
