SMS Replier™ by Iconosys Strongly Recommended in New MeadReasearch Study as the Solution to Texting While Driving (TWD)
Laguna Hills, CA, September 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- SMS Replier™ by Iconosys, Inc. was favored over several other competing products designed to prevent texting-while-driving (TWD) in a study recently by conducted by MeadResearch, which called SMS Replier™ the “most user friendly, feature rich, and ultimately, cost-effective solution to TWD.”
Iconosys, Inc., a leader in the development of innovative mobile and stationary telecommunications applications and technologies introduced SMS Replier™ earlier this year and was the first such app in its space (and the only app included in the MeadResearch study) to be adapted for the three major Smartphone platforms, Blackberry™, Android™ and Windows Mobile™. MeadResearch noted that iPhone was not considered for the study due to the company’s (Apple’s) unwavering control over its resources.
The study incorporated three types of devices: Speech to Text, Disabling or “Bricking” and Smart Driver Attendant and despite their differing services, comparisons were made in order to address this important and timely social problem.
Unique among the products tested, SMS Replier™ automatically sends a fully-customized response to all inbound calls and text messages while a user is operating a motor vehicle. In addition to 52 preset convenience messages (e.g., I’m in a Meeting, At a Movie, Doing Homework, I’m Sleeping, Out to Lunch, Having a Bad Day, etc), SMS Replier™ enables users to send personalized messages to suit their particular needs and circumstances.
At the time of the study, MeadResearch reported that some 1.6 Trillion SMS or text messages are sent every single day, compared to a world total of 4.1 Trillion text messages sent during the entire year of 2008.
“Texting while driving continues to grow and further plague our society with needless and preventable statistics in terms of lost lives and personal injuries, not to mention property damage resulting from related vehicle accidents,” the study says. A complete version of the study can be found at www.meadresearch.org.
“I am very pleased that SMS Replier™ is being recommended by MeadResearch as we continue to strive to be leaders in the development of the safest, most reliable and glitch-free Smartphone applications that both enhance people’s lives and improve their safety,” commented Wayne Irving II, Iconosys CEO and founder.
SMS Replier™ is a responsible solution to the fast-growing and deadly calling and texting-while-driving (TWD) social epidemic, one of the most dangerous threats to public safety on our nation's roadways; TWD is currently illegal in over 30 states (and counting) that prohibit this reckless activity. It is estimated that at any given time well over 800,000 people are engaged in either calling or texting while driving in the U.S. alone.
About Iconosys, Inc.
Iconosys, Inc. is developing a series of technologies designed to make mobile applications better, faster, easier, and ultimately safer to use. Iconosys' flagship product, SMS Replier™, is a revolutionary mobile phone application designed to couple many convenience services with addressing the growing problem of communicating safely while driving a car, truck, or motorcycle.
Iconosys' CEO Wayne Irving II, a pioneer in next-generation telecom concepts, has led the drive to take advantage of GPS and other onboard motion technologies to build lifesaving and life-enhancing products, and to create new and better tools for wireless platforms and operating systems.
Iconosys proprietary technology, developed with support from Motorola, is a complex series of algorithms and readings from the technology running on today’s Smartphones; this includes, without limitation, GPS and other motion sensoring, coordinated with Google mapping to provide an accurate and responsive background service to most, if not all, of the upcoming Iconosys technology releases.
Each mobile app from Iconosys including SMS Replier are enhanced with Iconosys' DriveReply™ technology which our testing shows is up to 90% more efficient in battery consumption, a key differentiator from other producers of GPS dependent Smartphone applications.
