Washington, DC, November 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Washington Chiefs Inc., fundraising campaign "If You Donate a Dollar, You Can Produce a Scholar" kicked off this month. Since times are hard financially for everyone, The Washington Chiefs ask for your contribution of a dollar which will be used for the youth service programs.
The Washington Chiefs Inc supports and services include mentorship, social activities, and vocational training. The WCI also offers information and referral services, and works to educate the community about the need for mentorship to disadvantaged children. The Washington Chiefs is widely recognized for working with children in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) to improve public policies and keep children’s issues in the hearts and minds of decision-makers, donors and volunteers.
WCI is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that embraces community service as an integral part of its mission. Members are required to act as the core of positive youth-oriented programs and project wholesome images throughout their respective neighborhoods.
WCI exemplify leadership, strength, and responsibility to the DMV communities. The Chiefs symbolic logo of crossed battle axes represents the team's respect for its members and the community.
The WCI organization is designed to:
Elevate academic excellence among at-risk youth,
Extend outreach efforts to disenfranchised youth with low-economic communities,
Nourish and develop self-discipline and self-reliance, and
Encourage healthy lifestyles in disadvantaged, yet talented youth of all ages.
The WCI programs are designed to reach these youngsters and young adults through structured, supervised recreational activities, tutoring and mentoring programs, social skills development workshops and health education seminars.
The WCI is dedicated to presenting programs that will strengthen and fortify youths against the world's problems and help them become productive leaders in their communities. The WCI is concerned with all aspects of the development of today's youth, and recognize their obligations to help prepare these youth with the life skills and personal tools necessary to conquer life's obstacles.
