Hoboken, NJ, September 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Professor Andy Brick was Supervising Orchestrator, Orchestral Music Director, and Orchestral Conductor for ground-breaking interactive game title Mafia II, released on August 24, 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PCs.

As a Distinguished Industry Associate Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, The Innovation UniversityTM, Professor Brick is actively engaged in composing and conducting professionally while teaching courses in music theory, composition, and orchestration at Stevens. The College of Arts and Letters incorporates music theory, history, electronic music, and sound recording technology into a multi-disciplinary Music and Technology curriculum that approaches the arts through the science and technology that inform them.

Mafia II has earned positive critical reception for its return to a more cinematic gaming experience, garnering a 9.0/10 rating from Game Informer. For its successful contributions to the immersive world of the game, reviewers are applauding the soundtrack, which had the added challenge of distilling musical themes that capture 1940s and ‘50s New York City.

Mafia II “steeps the player in the alternate world of the crime families from the '40s and '50s,” according to CNN International. “Music was a huge component in creating a believable environment.”

Professor Brick is no novice when it comes to video games. His compositions have been featured in The Sims 2, Sim City 4, Arc the Lad, Stranglehold, and other titles. This summer, Professor Brick conducted the Eugene Symphony in a wildly successful program featuring compositions from popular video games. The unusually artful approach he brings to video game soundtracks has led to profiles in the New York Times and Billboard Magazine.

Professor Brick is also a commissioned composer and globe-trotting conductor. His composition and performance, with the Kiev Philharmonic, of Hungarian Overture has been released by ERM Music as part of their set entitled “Masterworks of the New Era.”
