Rome Beer Festival to Again Pour Funds Into the Arts

Tickets are now on sale for the third annual Rome Beer Festival offering over fifty beers for sampling all while raising money for arts initiatives.

Rome, GA, September 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The third annual Rome Beer Festival will be held September 18, 2010 at Heritage Park in Rome, Georgia as a fundraiser for the Rome Area Council for the Arts. The event will begin at 1:00 P.M. and end at 5 P.M. that Saturday and feature over fifty beers for sampling.

An annual fundraiser for the Rome Area Council for the Arts, ticket sales are instrumental to pour money into arts initiatives. In addition to its continued support of the Empty Bowls project and the Art Walk on Broad, RACA is planning several new major arts outreach programs this year for children, young adults, senior citizens and under-served members of the community, according to Board Chair, Wright Ledbetter.

Event organizer Scott Moody says “This is a great opportunity to sample beers not commonly seen in Rome’s restaurants and retailers. The tasting will allow one to experience many different products in one setting and in one afternoon.”

SafeRide America, will once again be sponsored by the Eagle Rock Distributing Company in an effort to ensure safe travel for both participants and their vehicles.

Food vendors include Santa Fe Restaurant and Wow Café and Wingery. Live music will be provided by The Groundhawgs, and Backswing, both locally based bands well-known across the region.

Mr. Moody says “Our goal is to offer a safe environment, a wonderful atmosphere, and lots of fun for those attending. Last year, even with the rain, our attendance was in excess of 600.”

Everyone is encouraged to use one of the downtown parking decks and to enter the festival via the walking bridge between Bridgepoint Plaza and Heritage Park.

Tickets to the Rome Beer Festival are $25.00 if purchased in advance and $30 at the door. No one under 21 will be admitted and you must have a picture ID to enter. Tickets are available on-line at www.forumevents.org, through the Forum ticket office, or by calling 706-291-5281.

Designated Driver tickets will be available for $10.00 at the gate the day of the event when accompanying someone with a ticket.
