Delray Beach, FL, September 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is sponsoring a free workshop for local nonprofit organizations on Monday, September 20th at the Delray Public Library, from 8am to 5pm.
The workshop, called “Adding Structure to your Nonprofit,” will teach organizations how to become more profitable and efficient by developing and following business plans, operations manuals and financial plans.
The CRA, which is providing breakfast and lunch for all participants, has made the workshop available to any nonprofit organization in the city.
“It’s important that our local nonprofits have access to the best resources,” said CRA Finance and Operations Director Lori Hayward. “Even a small organization with no budget for training can afford this opportunity.”
This workshop is intended for upper-level managers, such as executive directors, presidents, or board chairs. Finance directors and other managers are also welcome to attend.
“If the people in charge don’t commit to improving operations, then the organization won’t see any results,” said Julia Aquino, the workshop organizer and founder of the How Factor. “That’s why we need the executive directors and finance managers there.”
The workshop will be taught by four experts:
- Julia Aquino – Founder and principal of the How Factor, with more than 20 years of financial and process analysis expertise.
- Keith Kohler – Finance and strategy consultant committed to teaching businesses principles to “make the numbers work” in order to improve operations and support organizational growth.
- Leo Abdella – Managing Director & Founding Team Member of the Impact Leadership Network; this “Social Entrepreneur” helps people create sustainable nonprofit social cause organizations for the next generation.
- Lauren Cohen – Attorney and Founder/President of e-Council Inc.com, which helps startup and existing businesses with customized business development strategies.
The workshop is restricted to nonprofit organizations located in Delray Beach, and attendees must register by Thursday, September 16. To register, send an email to Julia@HowFactor.com or call (561) 568-9875. For more information call the CRA office at (561) 276-8640.
