III Records is thrilled to make known the release of OGOGO: Topless Diamond on September 7, 2010. Topless Diamond features guitarist igOr OGOGO, whose albums of contemporary Russian-American blend of music have become top sellers for III Records label. The music levitates from avant-garde to hypnosis, ambient, jazz, sci-fi and back again.
In a genre defined by the avant-garde, and by the stretching of the guitar’s technical limitations, igOr OGOGO writes music that is definitely ingrained in melodious, atonal magnificence. “I’ve performed and studied the total range of the guitar’s repertoire,” says igOr, “and I just continue returning to the compositions that are creatively significant to me. It feels good to step out of convention and record an album that not just feels right to me, but that I sense will vibrate with all types of audience—both classical and non-classical.”
igOr OGOGO teaches at Harbor College and Cerritos College in Los Angeles, CA. He is also scheduling performances in the course of this year and 2011 that will feature compositions from the album as well as other selections.
