Creative Photo Designs Lands Exclusive Navel Shoot
Creative Photo Designs is pleased to announce an upcoming photo shoot for Friction Stir Link, Inc. of the recently launched U.S. Navy warship, the USS Freedom.
Waukesha, WI, January 02, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Creative Photo Designs (CPD) has been awarded an exclusive photo shoot for Friction Stir Link, Inc. (FSL) on the commissioning of the new navel vessel USS Freedom in the summer of 2007. The ceremony will take place at Veterans Park located on Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI.
Built at Marinette Marine Corporation in Marinette, WI the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a new introduction into the navel fleet. Both officials in Milwaukee and Chicago heavily lobbied for the commission. FSL was instrumental in the construction of various components of the ship. FSL is known as a world leader in advanced robotic welding techniques and production capabilities.

“Our involvement in the LCS dates back many years and we look at the commissioning as a culmination of our work. FSL workers friction stir welded aluminum extrusions together forming large flat panels that make up the deckhouse and superstructure of the USS Freedom. FSL made approximately twenty miles of friction stir weld using the newly TWI patented welding process. We have used the photography services of CPD many times in the past and have always been impressed with both their professionalism and attention to detail. We would like CPD to document the event for our future use in various marketing materials,” says John H. Hinrichs, VP of Technology for FSL.
