Twelve Suspenseful New Tales About Art Comprise ARTbreakers, Published by Outskirts Press

Albuquerque, NM, September 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press, Inc. has published ARTbreakers: 12 Crafty stories by Shirl Brainard. The author's most recent book to date is a 6 x 9 paperback in the fictional suspense category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/artbreakers was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.

Twelve tales -- all connected to an art object or profession -- tell of lust, murder, theft, deception and psychological disorders. Most are suspense stories, others border on paranormal, but all are based on fact with invented fictional plots and characters.

In one, a World War II Monuments Men veteran has an important secret. Another tells of a young artist suffering from early fame and OCD. In others, a wannabe painter may be a scam artist, a couple indulges far too much in the culinary arts, and twin sisters get involved with Anasazi pot-hunting in the four corners.

“Do we ever escape from childhood’s parental teachings? Is there life after death -- in another form? Are there angels among us? The intent is to entertain the reader with intrigue, information and surprise at the unsuspected endings. Shirl Brainard is a thoughtful writer with a different slant on stories.”
- Barbe Awalt, author, publisher Rio Grande Press, ABQ, New Mexico.

359 pages in length, ARTbreakers: 12 Crafty stories is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the fictional suspense category.
