Thursby Releases ADmitMac PKI v3.1, Its Third Generation High-Security Mac-Windows Software for Government and Enterprise Clients Leveraging CAC and PIV Smart Cards
Arlington, TX, September 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Thursby Software Systems, Inc., the world’s leading provider of enterprise Mac-Windows connectivity solutions, released ADmitMac PKI v3, its third generation high-security Mac-Windows integration software. ADmitMac PKI enhances security, increases efficiency, reduces identity fraud and protects personal privacy for government and enterprise clients integrating Apple Macs into their enterprise PC worlds using CAC and PIV smart card security.
ADmitMac PKI now supports Apple’s Snow Leopard as well as Leopard operating systems. It also adds formal support from Thursby for all of the U.S. Government CAC Next Generation cards, including Gemalto TOP DL GX4 144K and Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 Dual. ADmitMac PKI continues to include all of Thursby’s additional networking software from both DAVE and ADmitMac technologies including full OCSP, Microsoft DFS and single sign on over VPN support.
Mac sales to the government grew over 200% in the last quarter and sales to business over 50%. Greater numbers of Macs in turn drive demand for end-to-end Mac-Windows enterprise integration covering Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, SOX, HIPAA, PCI and other security standards.
Thursby’s third generation ADmitMac PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) v3 builds on a series of industry firsts and unmatched experience with over 50,000 Mac-Windows clients to deliver true end-to-end enterprise integration:
- Four years since Thursby introduced the first CAC (Common Access Card) and PKINIT support for the Mac using Thursby ADmitMac for CAC technology
- Seven years since Thursby introduced single sign on identity and access management (IAM) via Mac Workgroup Manager (WGM) or Microsoft Active Directory/Group Policy Objects (GPO) for the Mac using Thursby ADmitMac technology
- Fourteen years since Thursby introduced commercial grade file and printer sharing with SMB/CIFS (Server Message Block/Common Internet File System) network volumes and Microsoft Distributed File Systems (DFS) for the Mac using Thursby DAVE technology.
Thursby’s software is engineered and proudly supported by Mac-Windows specialists from Arlington, TX. Their client-based solutions allow Macs to be managed just like PCs thus reducing risk and preserving existing investments in Windows infrastructure, processes, training and support. They require no costly and disruptive additions of Windows Server software, Mac OS X Servers or any schema changes. Features can be added and bugs corrected without any need to change the particular OS X version being run, a key requirement for enterprise level support.
ADmitMac PKI Technical Highlights
- Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) and Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) support
- Latest government CAC and PIV (Personal Identity Verification) smart cards supported via Thursby Tokend, including Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 and Gemalto TOP DL GX4 144K cards
