Haunted High Behind the Scenes -- Get the First Look at 2010's Haunt
Haunted High, the popular fundraiser from the Oconomowoc (Wisconsin) Public Education Foundation, will be open for a Sneak Peek Behind the Scenes look on Monday September 13, 2010 at 7:00pm. Visitors will see first hand the brand new additions to the attraction and participate in an open casting call with first choice of key "spook" roles.
Oconomowoc, WI, September 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Haunted High returns on October 1, 2010. There is an opportunity to meet the "haunt masters" on Monday September 13th at 7:00pm at Haunted High (at the old Oconomowoc Middle School, 550 E. Forest Street in Oconomowoc) to audition for important acting roles. A behind the scenes tour will reveal "spook" opportunities. Improvisational haunting by hopefuls is expected to help the haunt masters fill key roles. Pizza, beverages and a free 2010 Haunted High t-shirt await those who attend.
“Haunt-lovers are dying to get in on the action at Haunted High, and many of the key 'spook' roles are still available, including cooks for the cannibals’ kitchen and a psychotic gym teacher,” said Dan Doble, project manager of the October event. “There’s no other time of year like this. The word is out.” Doble, who became involved thanks to his own love of haunted attractions, added, “Lots of people can’t wait for this time of year. Now they have the perfect chance to scare in costume in an absolutely top-notch haunt. We hope more adults will volunteer – maturity, size and stamina are key to pulling off these characters.” There is room for volunteers with a wide range of personalities and interests to flesh out the cast.
Organizers expect attendance of over 6,000 visitors to the site in 2010, and need at least 700 volunteers to staff the run during the month of October, most of them being "scary" acting roles for those over the age of 14. Those interested in volunteering should contact Sue Herro at susan_herro@hotmail.com or 262.567.3420.
“Haunts” will begin on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, and will admit "victims” every Friday and Saturday night through Oct. 23. Ticket desk opens at 6:30 p.m., and haunts run from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $13, with a fast pass available for $23. A “Lights On” day is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 24, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00p.m. at $8 per ticket.
Haunted High, now in its second year, is a fundraiser organized by the Oconomowoc Public Education Foundation (OPEF). A general information line for Haunted High is now available at 262.313.9911. New this year is OPEF’s Haunted Ball, an elegant masquerade for adults 21 and over to be held at the Olympia Conference Center and Resort on Oct. 29, 2010. Proceeds from Haunted High will benefit the Oconomowoc Area School District in the form of grants toward materials, equipment and projects to improve educational outcomes.
