Having Their Track ‘I Don’t Know Your Name’ Selected as the Theme for the Leeds Arena Ad Campaign, Escort Knights Announce Its Release as a Single & UK Tour Dates

London, United Kingdom, September 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Leeds-based 4-piece Indie-House act Escort Knights are looking to make their mark on the UK music scene this autumn with their debut single ‘I Don’t Know Your Name’ via Waltzer Records on the 31st October 2010 accompanied by tour dates spanning across the end of October and early November. Inspired by early Madchester house and contemporary indie music, they have set about creating their own sound. Turned off by a climate of financial ruin and depression, Escort Knights focus on the lighter side of life with their tongue-in-cheek and unashamedly honest lyrics which along with the funky, 4-to-floor groove and live dance music instrumentation of the single represents the band’s vibe fully.

Escort Knights were recently selected from hundreds of entrants to provide the soundtrack for the animated advert to publicise the new Leeds Arena, a multi-million pound 15,000 capacity arena. The commercial ad began broadcasting on national and regional media as well as on the BBC big screens in Leeds’ Millenium square from mid-August thus generating an even larger amount of much deserved publicity for the band.

Since forming in late 2009, Escort Knights have rapidly established themselves on the UK gig circuit, playing in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow among others and recently supporting acts such as Grosvenor (formerly of Hot Chip), electro pop act Transformer and Pineapple Dance Studio’s Starman. They have also received significant airplay for their songs from radio stations such as BBC Radio Leeds, Radio Aire and ELFM. Their debut album is nearing completion and due for release in early 2011.
