Author Rollo J. Pondmarsh, a semi-retired ichthyologist, manages a fish farm near Pinconning, Mich. He and his wife live with the real-life Stevie Y and Gracie.

Illustrator Maria Rodriguez uses acrylics and oils to create her paintings. She lives in Grosse Point, Mich., with her three children and has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and art from Loyola University in Chicago. After graduation, she owned and operated Zeus Gallery in Chicago, representing herself and artists from around the world.
