biggAIR Giant Daylight Screen (Ecran Geant) in Avignon
The JCI Avignon used a giant biggAIR daylight screen (Ecran Geant) for live transmission of the Radeaux Folies 2010.
Nice, France, September 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Radeaux Folies was now for the fifth year a big success in Avignon. Around 7000 visitors attended the event this year and watched 15 teams on their race down the Rhone river, passing the famous Pont d'Avignon.
In order for the spectators to have a better view of the individual teams on their 1.2 km race distance, for the 2010 edition the Jeune Chambre Economique opted for the giant daylight screen of biggAIR. The inflatable screen was installed at the arrival and transmitted live images taken by a camera along the river banks. The organizers had long searched for a cost-effecient solution as the usual LED screens were too expensive. Requiring daylight visibility in bright sunshine, the only other solution was the patented biggAIR technology, now available in France through biggAIR Cube GmbH. This solution was only a fraction of the cost of comparable LED screens.
The organizers and the public were very satisfied with the result. For next years edition the JCI already announced it's intention to have an even larger biggAIR Cube installed.
