Mobile Fundraising Business of Wireless Factory Inc. Will be Continued and Expanded in U.S. Through a New Entity, Connect2give Inc.
Miami, FL, September 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Miami, FL (www.connect2give.com) Wireless Factory Inc. has announced that it has transfered its mobile fund raising operations for charities to a new entity, Connect2give Inc., where they will be continued and expanded with greater focus. As the successor to Wireless Factory’s mobile giving business, Connect2give Inc.’s core business and sole focus will be helping US non-profit organizations raise new contributions through mobile phone text donations. All of the same management and staff who have been conducting these operations at Wireless Factory will move to Connect2give and continue to conduct and expand those operations there. This will enable seamless continuity and expansion of the mobile giving service in the U.S. with greater focus.
Since 2005, Wireless Factory has focused on providing a safe and cost-effective infrastructure for the mobile market by tying together telecommunication companies, media, advertisers and mobile services providers. “In the past year mobile giving for non-profit organizations has grown exponentially,” says Lars Hjoerne, Founder and CEO of both Connect2give inc and Wireless Factory Inc. “It’s an exciting and cost-effective way for organizations to reach out to new donors using new media. With the new entity Connect2give, we can now set all of our resources and talents on helping these organizations meet and exceed their fundraising goals.”
Connect2give offers a cost-effective, turn-key, service that includes technical consultation, set up, and computer hosting for fund raising campaigns. Connect2give provides transaction handling including web based reporting, so that a charity can easily track the donations being received in real time. Connect2give helps organizations maximize their efforts by assisting with the technology and technical aspects of messaging, campaign marketing, social networking, new media and public relations.
Following the devastating January 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Wireless Factory, and now Connect2give, has been helping the Salvation Army raise funds for their emergency relief efforts by allowing donors to text the word “Haiti” to 52000. A onetime $10 donation is added to the donor’s cell phone bill. Mobile giving contributed more than 12% of the total donations for the Salvation Army emergency relief. In all, Americans donated over $35 million to various non-profit organizations for Haitian relief efforts. According to a recent Cone Consumer New Media Study, “Nearly eight-in-10 (79%) Americans who are active on new media believe companies and nonprofits should use these channels to raise money and awareness for causes.”
Other Wireless Factory customers who will now be under the Connect2give fund-raising umbrella include the American Red Cross (Southern Pennsylvania Chapter), Gwinneth Health System Foundation, Midwest Athletics Against Childhood Cancer, Inc., Feeding South Florida, and numerous local charities, non-profit organizations, educational foundations, and public broadcasting stations.
Florida based Connect2give will take over for Wireless Factory as an authorized Application Service Provider through the Mobile Giving Foundation which is the clearing house that handles all payments from the carriers to the non-profit organizations. These carriers have cooperatively agreed to provide this service without commissions and fees through the Mobile Giving Foundation and its authorized Application Service Providers to qualified 501(c) 3 organizations. Through the Mobile Giving Foundation and Connect2give nonprofits can leverage the donation potential of mobile phones and create an effective mobile giving channel.
