Vienna, Austria, September 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Michelangelo: The Drawings of a Genius exhibition will feature major works from the artist and will take visitors on a journey through the painter’s mind and exploring the creative process he used in composing such stunningly visual pieces.
Over one hundred works by Michelangelo will be on display incorporating paintings, sculptures and architectural work to showcase the artist’s versatile talents.
The exhibition is being held at Vienna’s Albertina museum which holds one of the most prestigious print rooms in the world and the event will feature the finest works from the museum’s Graphic Art Collection. Museums and private collectors from Europe and the United States have also generously donated pieces for the event, resulting in a collection of work never seen before in a museum.
Visitors to the show will be taken through a history of Michelangelo’s career including The Battle of Cascina which was one of his earlier designs, through to what is probably his most famous piece, the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel in Italy.
Art enthusiasts visiting the Austrian capital should reserve Vienna hotels closest to the Albertina to be sure of catching the entire body of work by the artist. The exhibition runs from 8th October 2010 to 9th January 2011. Entry is priced at 9.50 Euros with access is granted from 10am to 6pm daily.
