Harvard Rabbi and JLIC Director Publishes Book

Rabbi Ben Greenberg, the Director of Harvard JLIC and Jewish Chaplain of Harvard University, published a new book called Covenantal Promise and Destiny exploring Genesis and Deuteronomy.

Cambridge, MA, September 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Rabbi Greenberg, the Jewish Chaplain of Harvard University, Orthodox Rabbi of Harvard Hillel and Director of Harvard JLIC, turned his study of both the books of Genesis and Deuteronomy with students into a book and through it uncovered deep wisdom for contemporary life. "Covenantal Promise and Destiny" will help you gain a richer understanding of the pivotal narrative moments in these key texts of the Hebrew Bible and how the ancient wisdom of Jewish tradition can better your life.

In the book Genesis is studied in the light of it being the greatest book of stories within the human experience. Stories have the tremendous ability to be interpreted and re-interpreted again and again by generations of people, each one finding new insights and applications to their lives. Similarly, Deuteronomy is explored as the greatest re-telling of the story of the Jewish people through the interpretation of history's greatest leader, Moses. The combination of mining both Genesis and Deuteronomy together produces critical pieces of practical wisdom that is directly applicable to the modern condition. This book very well might change the way you value the Hebrew Bible for years to come.
