Pacific Resort Wins Big at the 2010 HM Awards

Rarotonga, Cook Islands, September 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Pacific Resort Rarotonga has received a high distinction accolade for “Environmental Program of the Year” at the 8th Annual HM Awards Gala Dinner held on Friday 3 September 2010. This award places Pacific Resort Rarotonga as the runner-up in the Australasia region to the Wolgan Valley Resort by Emirates in the Blue Mountains.

In a double celebration on the night, Pacific Resort Aitutaki general manager Michael Shah won the major award of “South Pacific General Manager of the Year.”

The HM Awards showcase outstanding achievements within the hospitality and tourism industry across Australia, New Zealand and some South Pacific countries and recognise people, departments, properties and chains across 40 categories in front of the industry’s leading hoteliers, staff, key suppliers and dignitaries.

Earlier in the year Pacific Resort Rarotonga achieved an important milestone with the organisation’s commitment to environmental practices recognised by EarthCheck; the world’s leading sustainable travel and tourism certification organisation.
