Mazatlan Tees Off MexicoFest Golf Tournament in Vancouver
Vancouver, Canada, September 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Nearly 100 golfers came out swinging for the Mexico Golf Tournament, the grand kickoff to MexicoFest taking place this week, Sept. 7 – 17, in Vancouver. Host of the 2010 Canadian PGA tour, the Pacific Coast city of Mazatlan was in the spotlight as sponsor for this unique event, part of the festivities celebrating the 200-year anniversary of the country’s independence during MexicoFest.
Held at the Richmond Country Club, the golf tournament treated Canadian business leaders and travel industry partners to a day on the greens, hosted by the Mazatlan Hotel Association and Tourism Board. Attendees then savored the full flavors of Mazatlan with authentic cuisine and lively music during a cocktail reception and award banquet. The tournament winner received a trophy and trip to Mazatlan, presented by the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Sinaloa and reigning Queens of Mazatlan’s Carnival.
Mexico Fest is organized by the Mexican Consulate in Vancouver with support from the Mexico Tourism Board and the Trade Commission.
