Detroit, MI, September 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Michigan Chapter of International Mobile Organization Announces the Addition of a New Chapter for the Metro Detroit Area, and Debuts New Websites.

The Michigan branch of the Helsinki, Finland-based International Mobile Monday organization today announced the addition of a new chapter to be based in the Metro Detroit area, as well as the debut of its’ new, mobile-optimized websites.

Michigan branch co-founder Linda Daichendt explains, “We started with Ann Arbor for our first location because there is already a very active Mobile technology community throughout the Ann Arbor region. We have now reached approximately 100 members in the Ann Arbor chapter, and people have begun asking us to schedule activities in the Detroit area, so we felt the time was right to activate the new chapter. The chapters will work together, and continue to share resources, though over time you may find that each chapter develops its’ own ‘personality’ based on the needs and preferences of each chapter’s members.”

The Ann Arbor chapter will primarily be led by Mobile Monday Michigan co-founder, Keith Bourne, Founder of Appervasive, with the assistance of Dave Koziol of Arbormoon Software. The Detroit chapter will be led by Daichendt, CEO of Strategic Growth Concepts with Bourne’s continued assistance.

Along with the addition of the new chapter, Mobile Monday Michigan is also debuting new websites for the Michigan branch and each chapter. The main site for the Michigan branch can be found at www.MobileMondayMichigan.org, the Ann Arbor site at www.MobileMondayAnnArbor.org, and the Detroit site at www.MobileMondayDetroit.org.

The sites are optimized for viewing on Mobile devices, will contain a Mobile-related job board, events schedules for each chapter as well as other Mobile-related organizations in each community, and will serve as a resource for all things Mobile within the State of Michigan. Information will frequently be added, including, but not limited to: lists of companies working in Mobile development, Mobile manufacturing, and Mobile marketing, as well as educational information and resources pertaining to the Mobile industry.

The Detroit chapter expects to begin holding meetings in October at a date and place yet to be announced. The next meeting for the Ann Arbor chapter takes place on September 20th at 6:30 p.m. at Conor O’Neill’s in Ann Arbor.

Mobile Monday Michigan will continue its’ expansion throughout the State, and hopes within the next year to add chapters in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and several other cities. The group’s goal is to bring together all of those in Michigan who are working in the Mobile industry, interested in learning more about mobile and how it may benefit their business, and those who would like to see the industry grow to facilitate jobs creation in the State.

MobileMonday (MoMo) is an open community of mobile industry visionaries, developers, influential individuals, and users fostering cooperation and cross-company business development through virtual and live networking events. The group’s programs are designed to facilitate idea sharing, best practices development, trends identification, and Mobile Industry growth locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. The Michigan branch executes on these objectives by delivering a balanced approach of business and technical content from within the Michigan business community, as well as beyond our State, in order to insure the Michigan community is made aware of developments taking place outside our area that can aid local businesses.
