Charity Golf Tournament Proclaims: It’s Raining Golf Balls
NSCC to hold its First Annual Helicopter Ball Drop at its Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament September 24
Scottsdale, AZ, September 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- It will be raining golf balls at the third annual North Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce (NSCC) Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 24 at the Kierland Golf Course at the renowned Westin Kierland Resort, 15636 Clubgate Drive, Scottsdale.
Sponsored by Ganem Jewelers, the drop will begin approximately 12:30 pm with a helicopter flying overhead and dropping 3,000 numbered golf balls on the Westin Kierland driving range. The Grand Prize will be a limited edition Tag Heuer SLR watch. Second prize is a vacation cruise for two from I.C.E., third prize is a putting green donated by Express Turf and fourth prize is a free one-year NSCC membership. Each ball will carry a handwritten number representing the individual who purchased the golf ball. Balls are available for purchase for $25 each, or five for $100, at www.armedzillafoundation.org. One need not be present to win a prize from the Ball Drop.
“The Helicopter Ball Drop will bring additional excitement to an already exciting event,” said Tom Lockhart, CEO, NSCC. “The event is already a huge success: it was sold out months ago. However, we invite the public to join us on the driving range and watch the golf balls come raining down from the helicopter and see the lucky winners announced. It will all be very festive and fun, a great way to spend lunch on a Friday afternoon.”
Networking and socializing will be going on in the Brittlebrush Bar and Grill from noon and throughout the afternoon. The Bar and Grill will be open for lunch, snacks and beverages.
Tickets for over 150 other raffle prizes will be sold, but the winner must be present to win at the dinner following the Tournament. Only paid players, sponsors and volunteers will have dinner provided that evening. All others may take advantage of the cash bar and hang out to see what they've won in the raffle.
This year’s tournament will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank, which provides meals for over 300,000 underprivileged families in the Valley, and Gabriel’s Angels, which delivers healing pet therapy to abused, neglected and at-risk children in the Valley, nurturing their ability to love and trust, thereby freeing them from the cycle of violence.
