CAD Studio Created by Merger of Dagis and the CAD Division of XANADU
Prague, Czech Republic, September 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two major Autodesk partners in the Czech Republic, XANADU and Dagis, today announced a merger of their CAD activities. The new company will be called CAD Studio a.s., and takes over all CAD and GIS activities of the companies Dagis and XANADU, becoming the largest specialised provider of CAD, GIS and PLM solutions in Central Europe. The legal merger will become effective as of 1 November, 2010.
The newly created CAD Studio company revenues are expected to exceed 300 million CZK, and the company will employ more than 50 specialised experts. CAD centres of the new company will be present in six cities: Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pardubice, Ceske Budejovice and Plzen.
Mr Cenek Cerny, Director of Dagis, was appointed Executive Director of CAD Studio a.s.
CAD Studio is the original name of XANADU, under which it was founded in 1991 and which it used until 2002.
CAD Studio will provide CAD, GIS and PLM solutions for mechanical engineering, AEC, mapping and management of infrastructure and property, based on Autodesk technologies. The portfolio of CAD Studio services will include not only training of CAD applications but also development of customised software for Czech and foreign customers, such as document management system iProject, GIS online applications, customised 3D CAD add-ons, etc. The customers of CAD Studio include CEZ, Skoda Auto, Telefonica O2, TOSHULIN, Preciosa, Prague Airport, ZDAS, and Pragoprojekt, i.e. the most significant customers of both companies.
Martin Grigar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dagis and a representative of the CAD Studio shareholders, says to the merger project: "It is a completion of the gradual consolidation of the market with Autodesk products we have been watching in the recent years. A very strong subject is thus created, which will – thanks to its size, experience and human resources – be able to offer its customers services which are even more comprehensive and of better quality than the existing ones. It is definitely a great opportunity for all of us, our employees, customers and partners."
Mr. Tomas Netolicky, Director of XANADU, adds: "XANADU will focus in providing IT solutions and services including outsourcing after the spin-off of its CAD activities. As for the future, XANADU plans to increase activities in these IT areas by expansion of offered products and services portfolio and by expansion in regional scope."
The newly appointed Director of CAD Studio, Cenek Cerny adds: "We want to continue the many successful years of both companies and acknowledgements – e.g., the Autodesk Gold Partner and Autodesk Consulting Partner status. We want to further develop our market position on the basis of the long-standing business experience and professional knowledge of our employees. We are going to utilise this knowledge in extending the range of services we offer in the CAD application area."
