Moms in Business Unite Conference Announces Award Winners
The second annual Moms in Business Unite Conference exceeded organizers' expectations, attracting more than 100 women. A highlight of the day-long event was announcing the winners of its three awards.
San Diego, CA, September 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The 2010 Moms in Business Unite Conference, offering an array of opportunities to enhance the professional and personal lives of women in business, today announced that its second annual event exceeded organizers’ goals, as more than 100 women gathered at the University of San Diego to learn and be inspired. One of the highlights of the September 15 event was announcing the winners of its three awards.
The Mompreneur Grant, awarded to a mom business owner with an innovative business idea who’s in need of capital to take her to the next level, was presented to Jennifer Humora of Mom2Mom Marketing.
The Best New Product of the Year, presented to the Inventor Showcase participant who received the most votes from conference attendees, was a tie; Kristy Nardini with Tazzini, leakproof stainless steel bottles, and Lisa Singer with Gardens to Gro, prefabricated backyard vegetable gardens, shared the honor. Special thanks to Kodak, which added to its previous commitment by providing a printer for both awardees.
The My Man of the Year Award, given to a man who truly makes a difference in a working mom’s life through inspiration, support and a proactive willingness to be an equal partner, was presented to Gord Wildman, husband of Rae Majors-Wildman of All the Way Success, Inc.
The daylong event included an inspiring keynote presentation by TV host Maria Bailey, educational breakout sessions, networking and a resource marketplace in addition to the awards ceremony/reception and New Inventor Showcase.
“We’re delighted that this year’s event built on the success of our inaugural conference and truly added value to those who attended,” said Randa Cote, founder of SPE Solutions and Moms in Business Unite chairwoman. “We’re so proud to provide a platform for local mom and women business owners to gain knowledge that will help them get inspired and be more successful. We already have some great ideas for 2011.”
