FirstGlance Film Fest Philadelphia TwentyTen Announces Schedule
Philadelphia, PA, September 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- FirstGlance Film Festival, Philadelphia’s Independent Film Festival since 1996, announces the schedule for their annual event on Thursday, October 14th through Sunday, October 17th 2010 at Franklin Theater in The Franklin Institute, 222 North 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
Opening Night Thursday October 14th at 8:00
Come see the Philadelphia Premiere of the feature film “Charlie Valentine” starring Raymond J Berry, Michael Weatherly, James Russo, and Tom Berenger, directed by Jesse V Johnson. A variety of short films will also screen including the international short “Freaky Saturday Night” directed by Etienne Goldet, starring Guillaume Faure, Gary Busey, James Smuthwaite, and Amelia Rose, plus the Shot in Philly music video, “Next Episode” for Johnny Popcorn, by Joshua Coyne.
Friday Night October 15th at 8:00
A selection of shorts, including “The Macabre World of Lavender Williams,” starring Emmy Winners Christopher Lloyd and John Lithgow, and the World Premiere of the Shot in Philly feature, “The Romantic,” by local director Michael Heneghan, make up this screening.
Saturday October 16th Matinee at 3:30
This screening features the mini-documentary, “Sand,” starring the emerging tap artist Kenji Igus and his father Darrow Igus, the dark comedy neo-noir short, “Jesus Comes To Town,” and the documentary “The Creation of Torrit Smoke.”
Saturday October 16th Twilight at 5:00
The Shot in Philly feature documentary, “What Does Trouble Mean?,” by director Jim Seguin, is the centerpiece of this screening. It is about an African American boxer and heavy machine operator named Nate Smith who pushes the city of Pittsburgh to the edge of chaos to integrate the construction unions.
Saturday Night October 16th at 7:45
A mix of shorts plays before the feature film, “Consent,” starring Troian Bellisario, star of ABC FAMILY'S hit series Pretty Little Liars, Kate Burton of Grey's Anatomy and is directed by Ron Farrar Brown.
Sunday October 17th Matinee at 3:30
This screening features several short films including The Shot in Philly student short, “PING,” directed by Jason Oshman. “Level Up,” a Shot in Philly short film by Greg Koorhan, also screens.
Sunday October 17th Twilight at 5:00
The short films “sketchi” and “The Show” precede the Philadelphia Premiere of the Shot in Philly feature documentary, “10 Mountains 10 Years,” by Jennifer Yee, narrated by Anne Hathaway and starring Leeza Gibbons.
Closing Night Sunday October 17th at 7:00
Short films, including the Shot in Philly “Rat’s in the City” by John Wolfe, screen prior to the feature, “Baseline,” by Brendon O'Loughlin, which wraps up the festival.
