2010 Premier Book Award Recognizes "Gabriella and Her Bouquet of Friends"

Mount Vernon, NY, September 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- "Gabriella and Her Bouquet of Friends," the first book by Jerry and Patsy Di Leo, has won second place in the Children's Picture Book category in the 2010 Premier Book Awards.

The Premier Book Awards recognizes authors "for superior achievement in their chosen genre" and books that are "of outstanding merit." (www.premierbookawards.com)

The children's book was inspired by author Jerry Di Leo's four-year old daughter, Gabriella, and her love of flowers. The character of Gabriella was drawn to resemble the author's daughter, who is co-author Patsy Di Leo's niece.

In the story, Gabriella and her friends, who are flower characters, including Daisy, Tulip, and Rose, learn about their flowers as they plant in a Gabriella's garden.

The book's pictures were done by illustrator Silvina Maldonado who resides in Argentina.

The Di Leo brothers also published a 2011 "Gabriella and Her Bouquet of Friends" calendar. Upcoming books and calendars include "Pirate Gabriella Sails the Five Oceans" and "Gabriella Counts to Ten in Eight Languages."
