Detroit Regional Chamber President Will Discuss Future for Michigan’s Businesses
Farmington Hills, MI, September 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Detroit chapter of TiE (Talent, Ideas, Enterprise) announced today that Sandy K. Baruah, will provide a keynote address at TiECon Midwest 2010, Michigan’s largest conference on entrepreneurship to be held Oct. 28 and 29, 2010 at The Henry, Dearborn.

Sandy K. Baruah currently serves as the president and CEO of the Detroit Regional Chamber, the largest local chamber of commerce in the United States. From 2008-2009, he led the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA), reporting directly to the President. In this role Baruah was responsible for SBA’s $18 billion small business loan portfolio, helping to shape the federal governance response to the 2008 credit crisis and supporting the government's efforts to provide assistance to the automotive industry. Baruah also served as the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce with the responsibility of leading the Economic Development Administration. He is credited with helping to transform the agency into one of the top-performing federal agencies.
