Acquisition of Travel Sense DK
London, United Kingdom, September 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Sport Division of TUI Travel PLC’s Specialist & Activity Sector has acquired 85% of Travel Sense DK, the Danish sports tour business.
Operating since 2002, Travel Sense’s sport product range includes football tours, Olympics and the NFL. The current management team will remain with the business and drive its future development.
Darren Mee, Chief Operating Officer, Specialist & Activity Sector, commented, “Bringing the expertise of the Sport Division and Travel Sense together will allow us to accelerate our growth in the Danish sports market where we have already started to participate by selling packages to the Football World Cup in 2010. The characteristics of the market are similar to the UK and there will be an immediate overlap on the sport product range that we can both benefit from. The management team of Camilla Andersen and Henrik Elmholdt are key to the business and we very much look forward to working with them as we grow Travel Sense.”
