Junior League of Long Island Hosts Fourth Annual Coat Extravaganza
Roslyn, NY, September 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Junior League of Long Island (JLLI) will be holding its fourth annual Coat Extravaganza starting September 25, 2010, at its Roslyn Village Thrift Shop. New and gently-worn coats for children and adults will be available for purchase at greatly reduced prices.
Proceeds from JLLI’s Coat Extravaganza are used to help fund JLLI’s many community projects that touch the lives of thousands of Long Islanders, including Kids in the Kitchen, First Step, Compute the Future and Project Playground.
“Many Long Island families are struggling to make ends meet and the expense of a new winter coat may be beyond their budget. The Junior League’s Coat Extravaganza is a great way for Long Islanders to purchase winter coats at a fraction of department store prices while helping out the community,” said Shelley Wojtkiewicz, President of The Junior League of Long Island. “Our Roslyn Village Thrift Shop has many brand name and designer coats in terrific condition. In addition, we have two floors of gently-used clothes, shoes, scarves, gloves, jewelry, sunglasses, and handbags as well as an extensive housewares section. We encourage all Long Islanders to see what the Thrift Shop has to offer. Not only can you find a terrific, affordable winter coat, but you’ll be helping fund the Junior League’s many community projects for women and children across Long Island.”
The Junior League of Long Island strives to be the organization of choice for voluntarism and community partnerships to help improve the health and well-being of women and children on Long Island. Membership is open to all Long Island women over the age of 21. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
The JLLI Thrift Shop is located at 1395 Old Northern Blvd., Roslyn. Please visit www.jlli.org for Thrift Shop hours. The Coat Extravaganza will continue while supplies last. JLLI is always happy to accept new and gently-worn donations.
