YourCause Provides Solution for High School Volunteer Curriculum
YourCause, which offers major organizations with innovative web-based social responsibility solutions, creates a volunteer-focused online community for Episcopal School of Dallas.
Dallas, TX, September 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- YourCause, LLC, a company that provides CSRconnect, an all-inclusive online corporate philanthropy and volunteer solution for organizations, deploys its first volunteer hour tracking solution for academia at the Episcopal School of Dallas, a college-preparatory school that places heavy emphasis on community service in its curriculum.
The CSRconnect platform works seamlessly for students and faculty. Within the customized, private, and secure community, ESD students are able to log in, connect to charities, find volunteer opportunities and track their hours. Administratively, for Community Service Director Christi Morrow, the ‘Hour Manager’ provides a simple, accurate and digital method to centrally record, track and capture all volunteer data.
“This is our first time deploying CSRconnect for an educational institute, and so far, we have been highly impressed with the impact and overall participation,” said Matthew Combs, CEO of YourCause, LLC. “It’s acted as both a community and a volunteer hour tracking software in one.”
ESD officially launched the customized community to its ninth through twelfth-grade students in August 2010. Thus far, 30% of the students have used the community to log more than 11,100 past and future community service hours on a goal of 14,416 total hours. As part of their community service curriculum, students in the upper grade levels are required to complete 25 hours of community service during their freshman and sophomore years and an additional 25 hours during their junior and senior years. More than 70% of the students exceed that requirement.
"I am excited about ESD's partnership with YourCause,” Morrow said. “Our students now have the opportunity to use technology to showcase their community service efforts and to inspire one another to make a positive difference in their community."
