Striking the Right Chord for CCBBC
Clear Creek Baptist Bible College has been preparing men and women for ministry since 1926. CCBBC now offers ministry preparation courses online to move into the future and reach a wider market and also to deliver high quality ministry programs to students around the world.
Louisville, KY, August 24, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Mr. Jay Barnett, Director of Distance Education at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, sounds positively thrilled with his mission of bringing Christian studies to those interested in a pursuit of theological knowledge. With the support of the institution and the expertise of Learning House, Inc., Mr. Barnett’s outreach will be expanding dramatically.
“We have put together with our own faculty a distance education program,” Mr. Barnett said. That program debuted with the 2002-03 school year in participation with an effort funded by the state of Kentucky to bring distance education to rural areas. “However, that did not seem to meet our needs,” Barnett said. “Many centers run by the government program closed,” he explained, “as a result of poor maintenance on local levels. CCBBC wanted to stick with distance education though, he continued, and the school looked for a new service provider.”
“Just by a wonderful set of circumstances, perhaps led by God,” Barnett laughed, “we were able to get in touch with Dr. Denzil Edge,” President of Learning House, Inc.
Learning House, Inc. worked with CCBBC to find a good fit for the school’s online learning program. A partnership was struck between the two and CCBBC launched its revised online education opportunities. The past school year saw a “full load” – 35 hours – of distance learning classes, Barnett said. Another full load is planned for Fall 2005, but Barnett saw an opportunity to take CCBBC’s relationship with Learning House, Inc., and thereby its online learning program, a step further.
This fall, Barnett said, eight classes in biblical knowledge and seven in professional ministry development will be offered. He sees further opportunity for expansion though, with the possibility of courses aimed at teachers who seek some ministry education.
