The Chef’s Academy Expands to the Triangle
Culinary Institution to Foster Students’ Passion for Culinary Arts and Hospitality
Raleigh, NC, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Chef’s Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 107-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers more than 30 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced its new campus location located at 2001 Carrington Mill Blvd in Morrisville. The academy is scheduled to open August 2011.
Regional president Jayson M. Boyers along with a team culinary specialists and college administrators selected the Triangle location from more than 20 cities across the country. The Triangle campus will be the first Chef’s Academy outside its original market in Indianapolis. They found the whole area very attractive, not only because of the local people and the educational institutions, but also because of the priority education has in the Triangle. The existence of a strong independent restaurant scene in the Triangle area was also an important factor in making the decision.
Boyers will manage the Triangle campus in addition to the Indianapolis campus. Boyers will oversee an academic program that helps students become prepared and marketable graduates entering the fields of culinary arts, pastry arts, and hospitality and restaurant management through classroom and experiential instruction that sets up expectations for the real-life industry. The Chef’s Academy will provide an environment that fosters students’ passion for culinary arts and hospitality and a curriculum developed by the most qualified instructors and leaders in the market.
The Chef’s Academy is currently undergoing the process of accreditation through the state of North Carolina. It will be hiring about 35 staff members locally.
