In the podcast, Dr. David Linzey, a veterinarian at the Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country in Boone, N.C., explains that while some “people food” is fine for pets, owners should be aware of the surprising foods and medications that can cause serious health issues in animals and take steps to prevent them being consumed.

Quotes:
“Many pet owners like to treat their pet with foods from the dinner table,” said Claire Holley, executive director of the NCVMA. “Dr. Linzey covers the number of surprising foods that are dangerous for pets, including many foods people eat on a regular basis, such as onions, grapes and certain types of candy. Our goal is to give pet owners the information they need to make safe choices when feeding their pets.”
