Dark Park Studios Set for the Online Premier of Their New Comedy Series, "The Agency," Starring Sally Kirkland and Dianna Renée
Shenanigans Galore at This Upscale Boutique Talent Agency. “The Agency” aims to poke fun at industry insiders with a hip and stellar cast headed by Academy Award Nominated Actress Sally Kirkland and a gang of young stars including Scott Lunsford, Michael Masini, Mary Bonner Baker and Dianna Renée.
Hollywood, CA, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A new series "The Agency" is launching on youtube.com September 30th, staring Academy Award Nominated Actress Sally Kirkland and a gang of young stars headed by Scott Lunsford, Michael Masini, Mary Bonner Baker and Dianna Renée.
"The Agency" is a new, original comedy show based upon the busy world of an upscale talent agency in Hollywood. Power agents, struggling celebrities and conniving ladder climbers are all seen through the eyes of a fresh new intern, Lauren, played by Renée.
“It’s one of the easiest working environments to make fun of, since everybody has an opinion of what talent is. We want to explore the decadence, excess, violence and ultimately the comedy that goes behind entertainment,” said Daniel Bort, Producer and Executive Producer for the show.
The series was conceived by Michael Korbic and Diana Renee, with Renee writing the episodes and Daniel Bort developing. The trio also direct and produce the three to eight minute weekly episodes to be delivered on You Tube.
The idea generated excitement in the entertainment “sub-culture” of LA when Dark Park Studios used social media to audition talent. Call backs were based on facebook uploads and the “democratic” process allowed for everybody to be involved, with many actors commenting on and supporting the auditions of their peers in the comment section of the video.
“We're the first TV style show to audition utilizing a social network, but I believe this will become standard practice,” expressed Korbic, “At first, we weren't sure how actors would react to auditioning on Facebook, but 100% of the feedback was supportive and motivating. That says a lot about the actors in L.A.”
The series also stars Mario Diaz, Katrina Begin, Dave Mays, J. B. Welch, Kirsten Alaniz, Carlos Soto-Montes, Eve Schwartz, Keye Chen, Christopher Turner and Garret Montoya.
The series will focus on all aspects of entertainment: film, music and theater; even video games will have their storylines. Corporate sponsorship will have the opportunity to embed their brands into the storylines and even have their own “agent” assigned to them.
