San Diego Marketing Group Attending The 9th Annual Smile Gala
San Diego Marketing Group is attending the 9th annual Smile Gala in Los Angeles on Friday, Sept. 24.
San Diego, CA, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- San Diego Marketing Group is attending the 9th annual Smile Gala in Los Angeles on Friday, Sept. 24. as part of their efforts towards working with Operation Smile.
The Smile Gala, held at the Beverly Hilton, will honor John Stamos, Harrison Ford and Susan Casden for their generosity towards the organization. The event will also feature entertainment by the cast of the popular television show “Glee.” The purpose of the gala is to raise awareness and funds for the Operation Smile organization.
Operation Smile is an international organization that provides free surgeries to children who suffer from cleft palates and other facial deformities. According to their web site, it is estimated that every 3 minutes, a child is born a cleft condition, affecting the child’s ability to speak, eat, socialize or smile.
San Diego Marketing Group makes constant efforts to get involved with the community. The company has been involved in events and raised money for several organizations including the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Therapeutic Foundation of San Diego, and Autism speaks.
The company first became interested in the Operations Smile organization when a colleague had the opportunity to travel to one of the South American mission sites. Since finding out more about the organization, San Diego Marketing Group wanted to become involved with the cause. The goal is to participate in raising money for a mission and they are starting by raising over $2000 by 2011.
San Diego Marketing Group will also be hosting a Charity Wiffle Ball Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 26 at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach. All proceeds will go directly towards Operation Smile. There will also be a charity bowling tournament in November.
