The Filtrexx Foundation Achieves 501(c)(3) Status

Grafton, OH, September 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Filtrexx Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on facilitating environmentally conscious projects, achieved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization status on September 15, 2010. The Filtrexx Foundation was formed to work collaboratively with public and private entities to facilitate projects such as food initiatives, gardens and playgrounds in Greater Cleveland communities and nationwide. The Filtrexx Foundation serves as the starting point and partner for organizations with project ideas by providing an avenue to receive the funding and resources necessary to initiate and execute their projects.

As their first collaboration, The Filtrexx Foundation, in partnership with Church of the Open Door, enabled the distribution of 300 food gardens to low-income families in Lorain County as part of the 2010 Serve Elyria program. The fruit and vegetable gardens were built with materials provided entirely by donations from Church of the Open Door, and were installed by Open Door Volunteers.

One recipient, Holly Wade, is thankful for the gardens made possible by the partnership between Church of the Open Door and The Filtrexx Foundation. “Thanks for allowing us to participate in this program,” says Holly. “It is a blessing…especially in this economy to be able to go out in the backyard and pick fresh vegetables right out of your own garden!”

Following this collaboration, The Filtrexx Foundation further developed their mission to serve as a partner for governmental entities, school districts, and other nonprofits in need of resources to make their environmentally conscious projects a reality. Additionally, The Filtrexx Foundation provides each project and partner organization with its own website where individuals or other organizations can learn more about the project, watch its progress, and donate funds or volunteer time. Through their collaborative projects, The Filtrexx Foundation strives to educate communities on the use of annually renewable, bio-based, recycled natural products within public areas.
