Solar Maid Emerges as Solar O&M Leader
The Solar Maid Company has gained its leadership role in the solar O&M sector by expanding beyond basic solar panel cleaning and into all associated solar O&M services.
Pittsburgh, PA, September 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- It may take years before leaders in the young solar industry are identified, but even at this early stage, the solar O&M sector has an obvious leader in Solar Maid. Regardless of which matrix you use to determine leaders in any given industry, whether it be size, sales or brand recognition, Solar Maid not only leads the solar O&M market, it has a commanding advantage.
Starting out in 2003 when solar was still in it’s infancy, Solar Maid was strictly a solar panel washing company, but as the industry began to explode in the late 2000’s Solar Maid was at the forefront of the O&M needs and reinvented itself to encompass all the secondary services associated with solar operations and maintenance.
In 2008 Solar Maid started selling licenses to independent operators around the country and had a goal of ten new operators by the end of 2010. At the time this article was written, Solar Maid had just issued its 41st license to their newest operator who will be supporting the solar O&M services in the state of Hawaii. Accordingly Solar Maid has revised its original goal of ten operators by the end of 2010 to a new goal of 45. “This only gives us 3 months to sign on 4 new operators, but we have several interested groups overseas that will help get us to that magic number, of course the logistics of developing 4 new operators in 3 months will be a challenge, but we will find a way to make it work,” says Jay Welsh, Solar Maid’s General Manager.
The overwhelming success of the Solar Maid business model has drawn attention from around the globe. Solar Maid recently opened its first European office and is preparing to develop its second Canadian office. According to company officials, three additional overseas countries have been identified and while still under negotiations, they are expected to be under development by the end of the year.
Being the first or biggest doesn’t guarantee a leadership role, being the most recognized brand doesn’t guarantee a leadership role, but when you combine all of these factors, its hard to deny the fact that Solar Maid has emerged as the solar O&M industry leader.
