Cincinnati Women’s Publication Starts Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Flair
Cincy Chic to host fourth annual Bras With Flair on the Square to benefit Susan G. Komen
Cincinnati, OH, September 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cincy Chic (www.cincychic.com) is kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness month in style with its fourth annual Bras With Flair on the Square (BWF), a fashionable fundraiser for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The event takes place on October 1st, the first day of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, on Fountain Square.
Members of the community were encouraged to decorate bras and drop them off at any Widmer's Dry Cleaners location throughout the Tri-State area from August 30th to September 24th. The bras will be displayed on Fountain Square, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 1st.
“Bras With Flair on the Square is becoming a staple event in the community with this being its fourth year. It truly marries fashion and philanthropy,” Cincy Chic Publisher Amy Storer-Scalia said. “The day of the event, the St. Elizabeth mammovan will complete health checks, Fountain Square will turn into a runway and it’s the one chance Cincinnatians will see hundreds of decorated bras on display in public.”
During the event, attendees can vote for their favorite bras and from 5 to 7 p.m., there will be a “Ta-Ta-Tini Happy Hour.” Immediately following the happy hour, Cincy Chic will display local vendors and boutiques with a fall fashion show. At the end of the show, six breast cancer survivors will be recognized. And, finally, from 8-11 p.m. the top 10 favorite bras will be up for auction to benefit Susan G. Komen For the Cure that evening at Tonic on 4th (125 W. Fourth St. Cincinnati, OH 45202).
Proceeds from the bra auction, fashion show ticket sales and photo promotion with Busam Nissan will benefit Susan G. Komen For the Cure. For each photo snapped of the Busam Nissan parked on Fountain Square October 1st, Busam will donate $1 to Susan G. Komen For the Cure.
Additional information and tickets may be purchased at www.cincychic.com/braswithflair. Tickets are $15 per person and include a reusable tote bag stuffed with swag.
