Markedu's High Ranking Email Marketing Masterclass Coming to Moscow

Moscow, Russia, October 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- "Russia’s online reputation as one of top spammers is a major hurdle for marketers who use Internet for business and promotional purposes," says digital marketing expert Michael Leander. Russia has the fastest growing Internet population in Europe (followed by France and Spain). Based on statistics from internetworldstats.com, there are currently 38,000,800 Internet users in Russia yet only 27% penetration, allowing much room for growth. "While this communication channel has proven to be highly effective in most parts of the world, it seems there is much room for improvement of quality and efficiency of using Internet for promotional and marketing-related business objectives," says Michael Leander who also serves as the elected chairman of the Interactive Marketing Council under the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing Association – a 30 year old non-profit umbrella organization for direct and interactive marketing in Europe.

According to research conducted by Direct Marketing Association (DMA), email marketing generated a ROI of $43.62 for every dollar spent on it in 2009. Email marketing outperforms all the other direct marketing channels examined. The second highest marketing ROI came from Internet search advertising, which returned $21.85 for every dollar spent on it in 2009.

With Russia being the third among the “Top 10 of the World's Worst Spam Producing Countries” and having three of "10 Worst ROKSO Spammers" list, it is a challenge for Russian businesses to use email and other online methods to promote and market themselves inside as well as outside the country. It is a serious problem that is destroying the credibility of online media and incurring millions of additional costs for Russian marketers.

Considering the best practices of using email as means for marketing and business promotion in other parts of the world, email marketing is the most efficient online marketing tool. Although 90% of 247 billion emails sent each day are spam, according to DMA data (2009), e-mail drove $26 billion in sales (projected raise to $27.9 billion by the end of this year), social media accounted for $14.3 billion in sales and mobile accounted for $2.1 billion.
