Verde Lifestyles Celebrates One Year Selling Quality Eco-Friendly Home Decor
Verde Lifestyles celebrates 1 year of operation and offers a coupon code.
Royal Oak, MI, October 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Verde Lifestyles celebrates one year selling quality eco-friendly home decor
October 1st, 2010; marks their one-year anniversary.
It was only one year ago that Verde’s founders Danielle Brycz and Ryan Forrest gathered with family, friends and curious onlookers in a crowded restaurant basement to cut the ceremonial red ribbon celebrating the launch of their new business. The business has seen continuous growth over the past 12 months but it didn’t come without rebuilding, reinvesting and some entrepreneurial moonlighting.
“I remember sitting in Danielle’s dining room 2 years ago throwing business concepts and company names back and forth until we were blue in the face,” Forrest said. “Building the brand from scratch has been a seemingly endless process, but we’ve broken out into several of the online channels now and have seen very consistent growth in both site traffic and sales.”
Verde Lifestyles has made some significant changes to the site along with their selection of products. Their original product lines included some of the more popular green products such as organic cotton bedding, blankets, linens, and soy candles. As it turned out, these product lines weren’t exactly what Verde’s customers were looking for. Over the first couple of months, several product lines floated in and out of the site until a couple began to stick. The three most popular products included natural wood furniture, bamboo rugs and organic pillows.
“The collection of wood products have been an especially important asset to our company,” Brycz said. “We were seeing growth in sales for the bamboo rug line and some pickup with the organic pillows, but once the wood furniture went up on the site, it took off and has now become our best selling and most consistent line.”
Although Forrest and Brycz have focused much of their efforts on product selection, there was one area of focus that needed more attention, giving back. Starting back in January of this year, Verde Lifestyles began its first internship program, training college students in the art of online marketing and product development. They now have two paid interns, one from Michigan State University and the other from University of Michigan, each working about 10 hours a week. Verde Lifestyles has also joined 1% for the Planet, an organization that will allow them to contribute 1% of all their sales to a charity of their choice.
In celebration of Verde Lifestyles’ first official year in business, they are offering 20% Off all wood furniture if you use the coupon code: applecider at checkout.
