Memoirs of a “Love Affair” with Life Told in “Is God On Our Side?” Published by Outskirts Press

Manitowoc, WI, October 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Richard Thomsen announced today the release of his memoirs, “Is God On Our Side,” My Side? Your Side? Their Side?, published by Outskirts Press. Thomsen recounts his eight decades of experience from a hardscrabble, Depression era childhood to his rise to Director of the Mirro corporation, all with “some help” from the Lord.

Thomsen’s fascinating narrative candidly tells of the temptations, questionable activities, victories, setbacks, sicknesses and remarkable business adventures he has experienced, all the while recognizing that God had truly been on his side. Despite his humble beginnings in life, Thomsen tells of the importance of early moral and religious training by his parents and grandparents and urges his readers to consider that their children’s future success depends on such a strong family foundation.

The author also reveals the secret to having a life long “love affair” and a marriage that is not only a joy, but is a relationship that continually provides admiration, contentment, excitement, love and success to each of its partners. One simple suggestion by a pastor meeting with Thomsen and his wife, Eli, in preparation for their wedding prompted the two of them to perform one simple act every night at their bed side -- holding hands and asking for God’s presence -- and this act has made all the difference.

“Is God On Our Side?” is a keen reminder to readers that the successful future of any child depends so much on the relations and experiences he or she has had with parents, grandparents, teachers and friends and the moral and religious training they have provided. Through his vividly told and unique experiences, Thomsen also brings home the point that without that foundation one often learns too late in life that it is not what one says and what one knows that is so important, but what one does and who one knows.

“Is God On Our Side” is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.
