College Soccer Teammates Named to Businessweek's "America's Best Young Entrepreneurs 2010" List

Businessweek awards two 24-year-olds with "America's Best Young Entrepreneurs" for the work with their global culinary-themed clothing line, Pyknic.

Robbinsville, NJ, October 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bloomberg Businessweek announces that college entrepreneurs and owners of the food-themed clothing range, Pyknic (http://www.pyknic.com), have been named to "America's Best Young Entrepreneurs 2010" (http://www.businessweek.com/small-business). They are among the Top 25 entrepreneurs in the nation under the age of 25 and have projections of $500,000 in sales for 2010.

DeSales University '09 graduates, Stephen Thompson, 24, of Robbinsville, NJ and Andrew Marshall, 24, of Vestal, NY, started their business while juggling college educations and commitments to the University's men's soccer team in 2006.

The Business Majors sold 200 pre-ordered t-shirts to classmates before eventually expanding their line to include denim jeans, sweatshirts, collectible vinyl toys, and hats sold in stores nationally in retailer Pacific Sunwear as well as boutiques in London, Milan, Paris, and Tokyo.

"We focus on personal relationships with our customers and the quality of our product. It is important to us that our clothing is good enough to eat," says Stephen Thompson.

The pair are currently in the running for Businessweek's"Top 5 Young Entrepreneur" list (http://www.businessweek.com/small-business). Voting is open to the public and scheduled to end October 21, 2010.

Now located in New Jersey, Marshall and Thompson, who go by the pseudo-names "The Chef" and "The Butcher," have created the lifestyle brand as an outlet for their culture of food, sport, friends, and music.
