Gregory Wang, Managing Director, McGovernWang LLC, Presenting at Golden Networking's 2nd China Leaders Forum, "Challenges and Opportunities for China's Economic Juggernaut" (http://www.ChinaLeadersForum.com), October 6th, New York.
New York, NY, October 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- (October 1, 2010, New York) Gregory Wang, Managing Director, McGovernWang LLC, will join panel "Private Equity, Venture Capital and Capital Markets Investing in China" at Golden Networking's 2nd China Leaders Forum, "Challenges and Opportunities for China's Economic Juggernaut" (http://www.ChinaLeadersForum.com), October 6th, New York City.
From investors to large multinational corporations, China continues stirring interest. Private equity and venture capital firms have helped launch new companies and grow regional players into national competitors, usually taking only minority stakes. Now the world’s biggest private equity firms are coming to the conclusion that they need local money to compete for bigger deals. Will yuan funds, funded by local investors rather than foreign money, offer indeed access to more deals in a broader swath of China’s economy? How long will it take for China to exhibit experienced pension funds and other big institutional investors, the backbone of private equity funding in the West? What capital markets investments opportunities are currently available? Is China experiencing a real estate bubble?
Mr. Wang was most recently a Managing Director and Co-Head of Collins Stewart's China banking group. Previously he was at Merriman Curhan Ford & Co. where he co-lead the firm‘s China banking initiative. Formerly, he was a Director in Cantor Fitzgerald & Co.'s investment banking group where he focused on advising middle market Chinese companies seeking to participate in the U.S. capital markets. Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., Mr. Wang was an Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Peter J. Solomon Company. In 1998, he founded and served as Chief Financial Officer of RetailCo Inc., a leading sports retailer based in Shanghai with over 300 employees and 50 stores across China. RetailCo's primary assets were successfully sold in 2006 to a Hong Kong listed footwear retailer. Mr. Wang began his career in restructuring and investment banking in New York with Arthur Andersen LLP and Barington Capital Group, L.P., respectively. He received a B.S. in Accounting from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
2nd China Leaders Forum is produced by GoldenNetworking.net (http://www.goldennetworking.net), the premier networking community for business executives, entrepreneurs, investors and diplomats, founded by former McKinsey consultant and Columbia Business School MBA Edgar Perez.
