The large majority of the property in the auction comes from the Estate of Richard Thomas who spent most of his adult life in Savannah. Of note is his collection of Russian icons, and religious artifacts and animalia. Southern Art, both contemporary and classic, dominate the auction. Featured is the Savannah contemporary art collection amassed by Jeffery Williams and the late Rose Williams. Highlights include works by Betsy Cain, Ray Ellis, Greg Guenther, Jack Leigh, Larry Levow, Philip Saraf, Jerome Temple, and a large photographic collection with many works by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda, who is best known for his iconic image of Che Guevara. Other notable items include a large clock collection, English, American and French furniture and decorative arts, silver including Tiffany, Caldwell and Kirk, ceramics including Royal Vienna and Royal Copenhagen, Asian art, rugs and many interesting group lots.
