First AEO/GMEN Sponsored Going Green Workshop Pilot in Georgia Was an “Outstanding” Success

Morrow, GA, October 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A 1-day workshop on ‘How to Green Your Business,’ hosted by Cornerstone Association, Inc. was extremely successful in helping attendees discover how to “Green Their Business,” “Save Money” & “Increase Their Clientele.” The event (part 1of a 2 part series) was held at the Clayton State University on September 30, 2010. Cornerstone’s collaborating partners were: The University of Georgia Archway Partnership; Gail Davenport Enterprises, LLC; Ms Law Enterprises; and April’s Tax services. The sponsors of this initiative were GMEN (Georgia Micro Enterprise Network, Inc.) and AEO (Association for Enterprise Opportunity).

PC Williams, GMEN's Executive Director and AEO Board member, wrote, “Thank you for an outstanding event. The planning and implementation was superb!” The collaborating partners were especially honored when she said, “We have a great role model for moving forward with wider implementation of this workshop across Georgia.”

Steven Yates facilitated the workshop, using Going Green: NxLeveL Guide To Environmental Solutions. Steven stated, “As the NxLeveL State Administrator for Georgia, I am thrilled that GMEN's Executive Director and AEO Board member felt that their first AEO sponsored Going Green class was an 'outstanding' event.” He also stated, “We are hopeful this event's success in using NxLeveL's nationally branded Going Green curriculum bodes well not only for a Georgia model, but a model to lead micro-communities towards change across our domestic markets. As we continue our march down the green mile, we know it all just takes one person, informing another.”

Steven L. Yates, MBA, is managing member of HEROES Intl Tr. LLC and Heroes Green Energy & Trade LLC (HGET) both organizations are a service disabled veteran-owned minority business providing training, coaching and business development support services to micro-enterprise centers, complex organizations and their clients domestically and Africa. He is also the State Administrator/Master Trainer NxLeveL – GA.

The agenda was filled with subject matter experts from various industries who presented tips and strategies on how to green a business. They were: Eric A. Taub, Verus Carbon Neutral; Roy Edwards, Georgia DNR's Sustainability Division; Kendra Stansel, Clayton County water Authority; Ryan Vermeulen, Consolidated Office Solutions; Eugene Merriday, Economic Development Corp. of Fulton County; Audra Braswell Bleecker, Congressman David Scott's Office; Charles Walker, CEO Bright Ideas and Principle at Greenhood Industries; John Christmas, BioFuel Racing alliance; Lisa Robinson, Georgia Green Loans; and PC Williams, GMEN.
