Erlang Solutions Announces the Appointment of Robert Virding, Co-Inventor of Erlang, as Principal Language Expert
Robert Virding, Co-Inventor of Erlang, joins the Erlang Solutions expert team.
London, United Kingdom, October 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Erlang Solutions today announced that Robert Virding will be joining the company as Principal Language Expert. He will be based in their Stockholm office as of 4th October 2010.
His role within the company will be varied involving being a visionary, research lead and mentor. He will be directly involved in strengthening our product offerings and distribution while being an outward face towards the community. Robert joined the Ericsson Computer Science Laboratory in 1984. He was a member of the initial design group, shaping the Erlang language and designing many of the original libraries, compiler and garbage collector. He left Ericsson to become a co-founder of Bluetail AB, one of the first Erlang startups acquired by Nortel Networks. A contributor to the Erlang community and frequent speaker at international conferences, he also finds the time to write books and articles on Erlang. Robert had this to say about his new role at Erlang Solutions: "I have always been impressed with the effort and energy that Erlang Solutions put into supporting the Erlang community and the quality and breadth of their work.
